Here is the start of the murder mystery that I am working on! Tell me what you think…
The knife sliced into its victim with speed and precision.
Zip!
Zip!
Zip!
Life juices poured out and down.
The murderer leaned in again for another attack.
Zip!
Zip!
Zip!
His victim lay still. Satisfied that the damage was done the wielder turned to another death.
Zip!
Zip!
Zip!
And another victim lay before him.
The murderer just smiled.
And, then…
“Kutter!”
The killer winced. The smiled disappeared and a frown took its place.
“Kutter!” came down the hallway again.
Karlton grabbed another tomato and began to slice away. He pretended as though he didn’t hear the call.
Slice! Slice! Slice! Pieces fell onto the plate and waited for the next step.
Huffing sounds came down the hallway.
“Kutter, where is that sample?” snarled the harried six foot ball of fur who came around the corner.
Sighing, Karlton turned with the plate in his hand.
“One caprese salad to go, Dom!”
Nonplussed, the man grabbed the plate and turned to go then stopped.
“Could you please make sure the pork is ready in five? I am tired of this waiting.” and he left.
Growling slightly, Karlton tuned to the rest of kitchen, sighed, and turned to the roasters.
“Jeremy, is my meat ready?” he said to snickers.
